Besides hyperthyroidism, what other diagnoses could cause what this patient is experiencing? Please explain. Are there other hormones that could be imbalanced?
-Feels hot in a room that is 70 degrees
-Irritable and nervous
-Losing weight even though patient is eating more
-Has a systolic and diastolic blood pressure of 140/70
-Heart rate is at 101 bpm resting when it used to be 75 bpm resting
-Has an enlarged structure in front of neck with bruit
Turbulent blood flow creates a sound , termed as bruit. Bruits in neck may be cause of carotid artery stenosis, lymph nodes enlargement with infection, any carcinomas, sometimes of unknown origin.
Irritability , nervousness, hot flash , changes in pulse and pressure may be due to menopause in women when there is decline in estrogen levels.
Enlargement in neck has more causes like thyroiditis, goitre, lymph node infection and tumours, lymphoma, carcinoma in underlying tissues of neck , thyroglossal cyst.
So according to me there is no other hormonal imbalance other than T3,T4, and TSH
