Telemedicine refers to providing health related services and consultation via electronic technologies such as video conferences.

Telemedicine may bridge up the gap between the patients from rural settings where there is lack of transportation facilities and limited budget and less resources. It enables them to get expert consultation at the their doorstep.

However, on the other hand where telemedicine prove to be a boon for some part of the society, it also proves to be complex in certain spheres such as it extends no physical examination, rehabilitation and certain diagnostic procedures. Also there are increased chances of error as there is decreased human interaction between the patient and health care provider.
