Your patient is 25 y/o female at 34-weeks’ gestation and presents to the women’s unit triage with decreased fetal movement, heavy vaginal bleeding, abdominal pain, and contractions. What is it related to?
THIS SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS RELATED TO PLACENTAL ABRUPTION OR ABRUPTIO PLACENTA
Placental abrupton is a unkommon serious complication during pregnency especialy third trimester .the placenta develops in the uterus during pregnency it attaches the wall of the uterus and provid oxygen and nutrients to the baby .
Placental abruption occurs when the placenta partialy or completely seperate from the inner wall of the uterus before delivery.and this leads to defient supply of oxygen and nutrients to the baby .it cause fetal bradicardia and heavy vaginal bleeding to the mother .
Signs and Symptoms
Placental abruption most likely to occur at third trimester or few weaks before delivery .signs and symptoms included ,
a) Heavy vaginal bleeding
b) Abdominal pain
c) Back pain
d) Fetal bradicardia ( decreased heart rate of the fetus )
e) Uterine tenderness and rigidity
f) Uterine contraction
CAUSES
The cause of placental abruption is offen unknown .possible causes includes ,
Trauma or injury to the abdomen or rapid loss of fluids ,accident or fall.
COMPLICATION
For the baby ;restricted growth form not getting enough nutrients ,decreased fetal heart rate because of decreased suplly of oxygen to the baby ,premature birth , still birth .
CONCLUSION
Actually this condition we cant prevent because this caused by unknown cause . placental abruption often happens suddenly .left untreated ,it endangers both the mother and the baby .
