The five food groups that should be followed are vegetables and fruits, starchy foods, diary , protien and fat. The minimum number of food servings of these food groups are also recommended but many people do not follow thses because they are unaware about the daily servings that they should have each day from these food groups. That is the main reasons.Similarly people are unaware about the difference between servings and portion. A serving is a standard unit of measurement. whereas, portion is the actual number of servings that a person consumes. Because of these unawareness about the differences, people would mistakenly eat large amount of food.So, these two things are the reasons for not followed by the people.
