explain why you should not take a blood pressure in a patient who has lessened circulation in his or her arm?
Lessened circulation in arm of patients means less blood is pumped by heart means a case of hypotension where systolic and diastolic blood pressure is less than 120/80 mmHg .
Now when we measure blood pressure we use blood pressure machine sphygmomanometer ,which have cuff in it .this cuff apply pressure on forearm and blood circulation stops for sec and agian release pressure of cuff restore blood circulation and thus we measure blood pressure of patients .
Now in patients of hypotension this technique can cause
1.postural hypotension
2) neurocardiogenic syncope
3) post parandial hypotension
So best method is tilt table test in case of hypotension patients
