Three orthopedic staff nurses at a local hospital went out to dinner after their busy shift. The discussion shifted from talking about their horrible day to how they each arrived at this specific point in their lives. Each nurse's story started with their decision to become a nurse.

Lou is a 45-year-old married father of two. He decided to go back to school 10 years ago when his position at a local business was eliminated. Initially, he thought that becoming a nurse would allow him to maintain his lifestyle and support his family. His first position was as an emergency room nurse at an inner city hospital, where he lasted 2 months before his wife threatened a divorce if he didn't slow down. Bouncing from different units in various hospitals, he came to his present position 4 years ago.

Cindy is a 23-year-old new nurse with 1 year of experience on the orthopedic unit. Her story included the decision to become a nurse in high school when she took a vocational class. She described how she had a lot of trouble going from high school and being a straight A student to the university setting, where she thought about dropping out several times. She met her fiancé a month after graduation, and her wedding is in 2 weeks.

Tina is a 30-year-old divorced mother of three who described taking a long time to work her way through nursing school. She decided to go to nursing school a month after her divorce but had to support her children at the same time. She just bought her first home and plans to go back to school for a graduate degree next fall.

Prior to the business he thought becoming nurse so that he can take care of his family.

His responsibilitiy towards family, intrest in nursing made him transition from a business person to a nurse.

Cindy: Cindy have the strong dream of becoming a nurse. Cindy from a normal school directly went to a university for vacational couse.

She suffered but she didn't lose her faith.

With courage and determination she completed the course and become nurse

This element made her transition from a normal student to the nurse.

Tina: Tina is a divorsed women with three children

She has to run his family and also she should continue go to school.

She managed the both things and got the degree for nursing.

Responsibilitiy towards the family made her transition from a divorsed women to a nurse.

B) Tina has experienced reality of shock during the transition from stundent to nurse.

This is because she is a divorsed women and she has 3 children.

She has to take care of them and she should go to school and study.

She should also arrange for economical condition of the family.

With this much burden in the hand, she overcome all these obstacles and become a nurse.

So Tina experienced reality of shock during transition from student to Nurse.

C) Cindy story best represent my experience.

I have faced a lot of problems when i went from higher school to the university.

I suffered and survived.

I gave my complete efforts and i achieved my goal.
