what is policy competence?
Definition:-
Policy competence is a set of skills and knowledge about the
policymaking process that enable aperson to effectively act in a
policymaking situation.
Health professionals with policy competence can improve health by
exerting some influence thatshapes public policy in a way that
improves access and quality of healthcare or that preventsfurther
breakdown of health determinants.
Four principles that can guide ethical policymaking-

and practices should not affect their access to healthcare
2. Justice – each healthcare recipient receives the care they
deserve and pays their fair share (i.e.higher Medicare premiums for
enrollees with larger incomes).
3. Beneficence – actively seeking to do good; charitable
actions.
4. Nonmaleficence – doing no harm; making sure no unsafe products
