Review the concept of the Epidemiological Curve and apply what you have learned to the Current COVD - 19 Pandemic. What is the importance of the curve? What public health guidance is gained from understanding the curve and why is it important for the curve to "flatten" or decrease?
Answer: The general concept of the epidemiological curve intersect at the right angle have two axis. The X- axis and the Y- axis. The X- axis includes the time or the date of the disease onset whereas the Y-axis shows the increase or decrease of the disease patterns or occurrence.
The epidemiological curve of the covid -19 pandemic reveals the data of the increase in the disease or the number of the cases along with the date or time. The outbreak of this disease has been increasing. It means that the graph is getting on it's peak. This shows that there is intensive increase in the spread of the disease along with the time.
The public health guidance noticed the increase in the graph patterns which indicates that the infectious disease has been spread at a high contagious rate. It is important to flatten the curve because this will shows the decrease or the downfall in the spread of the disease. The flattening of the curve shows that there is decrease in the spread of the disease upto an extent.
