1.Colorectal cancer is the development of cancer from the colon or rectum.It is also know as bowel cancer, colon cancer or rectal cancer.

A.Pathophysiology of Colon cancer: Between 70 to 90% of Colo rectal cancer arise from adenomatous polyp. The Ade no ma carcinoma sequence in multi step process involving sequential mutations or deletion of genes. Polyp with tubular histological pattern have the least malignant potential,where as villous adenomatous polyp have the highest malignant potential. The larger the polyp ,greater the risk of cancer.

B. The treatment of colorectal cancer can be aimed at cure or palliation.The decision on which aim to adopt depends on various factors,including the person's health and preference,and the stage of tumor. *Chemotherapy. :Some specific regimen used for Colo rectal cancer are CAPOX, FOLFOX, FOLFOXIRI,FOLFIRI. *Radiation therapy along with chemotherapy is useful. *Palliation therapy is recommended for any person who has advanced colon cancer or who has significant symptoms.

C. Related functional changes with colonic cancer are *Change or disturbed digestion and metabolism. *Damage to excretory function due to damage to colon. * Deficiency of vitamin B12 which is absorbed in large intestine.
