The cause and effect reasoning is used in the healthcare field, in this scenario to find the cause behind the high prevalence of hospital acquire infection, as according to reports of CDC the practice of hand hygiene can reduce the prevalence of hospital acquired infections. The administration of the healthcare organization may use it to review the performance of the staff by reviewing the data collected in the organization regarding the prevalence of hospital acquired infections. This is done in order to improve the quality of care delivered and control the spread of infection in the healthcare organization.
