Weightlifting
It is the activity of lifting heavy bars to strengthen the
muscles,either for excercise or in a competition.
Types of weight-lifting are,
- SQUAT
- BENCH PRESS
- DEADLIFT
- POWER CLEAN
- ROWS
- PULL-UPs AND DIPS
SQUAT
- It is one of the most effective exercise for the total body
workout.
- It focuses primarily the lower body with the front variation
focusing on the quadriceps and the back squat variation focusing on
the glutes and hamstring.
- The exersice can be performed with a barbell,dumbbells or your
own bodyweight.
BENCH
PRESS
- It is the best exercise for the full-chest workout.
- The exercise can be performed with the barbel on the
bench,dumbbells on a bench,on machine or even on a Swiss ball for
added resistance to your movement.
- Variations include a standard bench press,incline press and
decline press among others.
DEADLIFT
- It is like squqt,is another excercise that works your entire
body while focusing on the entire core.
- By performing this excercise with a barbell,we will be able to
gain strength in our lower back and perform other exercises with
heavier weights.
POWER
CLEAN
- It is almost similar to the deadlift,but it is performed with
much less weight.
- It focuses on the lower body,back and deltoids.
- While it used to be performed with a barbell.
ROWS
- Inorder to work our back even further,bent-over rows should be
incorporated into our workout.
- We can perform these two-handed with a barbell or one-handed
with dumbbells.
