Weightlifting

It is the activity of lifting heavy bars to strengthen the muscles,either for excercise or in a competition.

Types of weight-lifting are,

1. SQUAT
2. BENCH PRESS
3. DEADLIFT
4. POWER CLEAN
5. ROWS
6. PULL-UPs AND DIPS

SQUAT

• It is one of the most effective exercise for the total body workout.
• It focuses primarily the lower body with the front variation focusing on the quadriceps and the back squat variation focusing on the glutes and hamstring.
• The exersice can be performed with a barbell,dumbbells or your own bodyweight.

BENCH PRESS

• It is the best exercise for the full-chest workout.
• The exercise can be performed with the barbel on the bench,dumbbells on a bench,on machine or even on a Swiss ball for added resistance to your movement.
• Variations include a standard bench press,incline press and decline press among others.

DEADLIFT

• It is like squqt,is another excercise that works your entire body while focusing on the entire core.
• By performing this excercise with a barbell,we will be able to gain strength in our lower back and perform other exercises with heavier weights.

POWER CLEAN

• It is almost similar to the deadlift,but it is performed with much less weight.
• It focuses on the lower body,back and deltoids.
• While it used to be performed with a barbell.

ROWS

• Inorder to work our back even further,bent-over rows should be incorporated into our workout.
• We can perform these two-handed with a barbell or one-handed with dumbbells.
