Homework Answers

Answer #1

Amiodarone 150mg (3ml) prepared solution available in 50ml bag ordered to infuse over 15 minutes

That means 50ml is to be infused over 15 minutes

To calculate pump flow rate in ml/hr

=> 50/ 15 = x/ 60 ( one hour = 60 minutes)

x= 50×60/15 = 200 ml

So pump rate in ml/hr is 200ml/hour

2) physician ordered 2000ml NS to infuse over 6 hours , so to calculate pump rate ml/hour

=> 2000/ 6 = x/ 1

x= 333.33 ml/hour

So the pump rate in ml/hour will be 333.33 ml/hour
