Being empathetic means a person thinks by putting themselves in the place of others problems to help them find or provide a solution.

There are some situations in which one may not be able to engage empathetically are Judge who sentences an individual for doing a crime cannot be empathetic to that individual who committed a mistake. A nurse caring for a patient who is very violent and pose injury to self and others cannot be shown of for empathy

This can also occur in social work.If a grown up child of an elderly parents leaves them in Orphanage for their pleasure and well being .In these situations it is not possible to be empathetic bring in the place of friends up children of the elders.
