The function of the Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee (PTC) in drug selection:

PTC is to ensure high quality drug therapy for patients in the hospital. PTC provides information about the information of the various drugs that are used in hospital through preparation and updation of hospital formulary.

The PTC establishes conditions for the use of the selected drug. It is noted th at the drug use also limited to sub groups of patients where the drug will have significant benefits clinically. The cost of the drug is also taken into account.
