Five strategies that would assist lila when communicating with people who have memory loss.

1. Avoid arguing , correcting or criticizing - people with dementia have their on reality , so listen carefully and quietly and try to understand them and don't engage in argument or correct people who have memory loss.

2. Speak slowly , clearly and avoid multistep instructions and can even task down in multiple parts if needed - so that not to overwhelm or confuse people with memory loss also can go through task one at a time.

3. Avoid open ended questions and ask close ended question - asking simple 'yes ' and 'no' question help them make decision easier and faster.

4. Have one to one communication in quiet place without noise and minimal distraction - this help to hold their attention and limit distraction which enhance good focused communication and may give opportunity to ask and formulate questions.

5. Approach the people from front , maintain eye contact and touch while talking - Touch is important in communication as it shows affection , comfort to person . Maintaining eye contact ensure that effective communication is done and ensure people that you are interested while communicating.
