Answer #1

Ans: The traditional sexual script is basically the long established ideas of how two opposite sexes are supposed to interact, or how their sexual behavior should be when it comes to romantic situations. Traditional sexual script has a significant impact on gender inequality because of it one sex is considered dominant over the other . For example if a male friend asks a female friend for coffee and takes her to Cafe . The male friend is expected to pay for her, if he doesn't he is considered to be disloyal to the sexual script and perhaps the female would never go out for coffee with him again! Females are taught from their childhood that they are weak while men are encouraged from early childhood and it has a strong effect on the personality of both sexes making the one dominant and the other thinks of itself as the weak which ultimately leads to gender inequality. The traditional sexual script are framed on religious beliefs, cultural intellects and social norms and rituals. They keep on passing from generation to generation and are learned through family, friends, religious preachers, media and people around us. The traditional sexual script induces shyness in female and helps the male to become aggressive and dominant. This aggressive behavior of makes over females is not only responsible for gender inequality but it also has a great effect on the crimes done against women. Because of traditional sexual script males forcibly persuade females to have sex called sexual coercion . Traditional sexual script is considered as leading cause that supports and encourages males to do sexual coercion against women leading to gender inequality. This traditional sexual script problem is not only restricted to developing countries but it prevails in North America as well .This evil element should be eradicated from the society so as to provide the equal field of opportunities for both the sexes.
