Ophthalmoscope used to identify retinal detachment or eye diseases such as glaucoma. Opthalomiscopy also done in cases of signs and symptoms of any disease which affects on blood vessels such as high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus etc. Visualization of retina enables to identify various conditions. It also called as funduscope.

Normal Findings are;

Disc: margins are sharp, colour:yellowish orange to creamy pink, shape: round or oval

Vessels:AV rotio, AV crossing:no untendation. No arterial reflex

Fundus background: no exudates, no hemorrhage, colour : red to purplish

Macula:located 2.5 cm distance temporal to disc. Nobvessels are noted around macula

In normal person, these findings will be normal. In other case it will abnormal.
