RELIGION

Religiopn is our societyis often highlydogmatized and ritualized becauseit is usually presented to us in institutionalized form .Religion performs two important functions.One is reinforcing norms and another is softening anxiety and tension.Religious beliefs,values and rituals are called the elements of religion.Through these elements religion reinforces norms in social system, these are used to control people.Religion is now being replaced by rationalism,humanism,secularism and socialism.These factors are limiting the scope of religion in social life.

SPORTS

Sports is a discipline of sociology ,theory deals with sport as a playful,rationalistic and rewarding activity.three main issues of sports such asroleof race ,the role of gender,and deviant behavior in sport

There is a coinccidental relationship between sports and religion.two share many ritualized and sacred aspects.Religion ,is derived from the divine realam,while sports is firmly locatedin the human experience.Finally sport is to regard as a cultural vehicle through which religious communities may disseminate their faith or reinforce their beliefs to their existing members.The popularity of modern sport and the devotion that fans display to their teams has led same to regard sport as a contemporary religion.
