  1. State the composition of the RPR antigen.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

RPR antigen suspension. Stabilized combination of 0.003% cardiolipin, 0.020-0.022% lecithin, 0.09% cholesterol, 10% choline chloride, 0.0125M EDTA, 0.01875% charcoal, 0.01M Na2HP04, 0.01M KH2P04, 0.1% thimerosal in distilled water. The antigen suspension is packaged in ampules.Antigen used in RPR test contain cardiolipin lecithin, cholesterol, 10% choline chloride, EDTA, charcoal in buffer. This test cannot be performed on CSF . Serum or plasma can be used for testing, serum not heated. This test tends to give negative results during late syphilis.

1) State College is evaluating a new English composition course for freshmen. A random sample of n = 25 freshmen is obtained and the students are placed in the course during their first semester. One year later, a writing sample is obtained for each student and the writing samples are graded using a standardized evaluation technique. The average score for the sample is M = 76. For the general population of college students, writing scores form a normal distribution with...

Scientists are working on a synthetic vaccine (antigen) for a particular parasite. The success of the vaccine hinges on the characteristics of DNA in peptide (protein) produced by the antigen. In one study, scientists tested alleles of antigen-produced protein for level of peptide. For a sample of 4 alleles, the mean peptide score was 1.56 and the standard deviation was 0.11. a.
