Normal Oral temperature=98.6 degree fahrenheit.
It can range from 1 degree below to 1 degree above.
More than 99.6 = hyperthermia.
Below 97.6= hypothermia.
3 STAGES OF HYPOTHERMIA :
(1). Mild hypothermia(93 to 95 degree fahrenheit)
(2)Moderate (86 to 93)
(3)Severe(<86 degree fahrenheit ).
Here oral temperature is 95.8F.
It's close to mild hypothermia. Not much of a concern.
Check for whether patient is :
(i).
exposed to any cold temperature(if yes, remove from that situation and use rewarming methods such as: cover him with warm blankets, remove any wet clothing if present, place him in a warm room).
(ii).
Check whether the client is diabetic( random blood sugar).
(iii)
check for hypothyroidism ( TSH - thyroid stimulating hormone )
