It is about 10 to 16 days

The infection prevention control measures and PPE required for shingles

- never to come in contact with patients with shingles when they have blisters and before they are crusted.

-always wash hands properly once visited the patient

- never come in direct contact with the fluid it leads to formation of chicken pox in previously non infected individual

- it spread by direct contact so wear gloves if examining such a patient, the shingles can be dressed properly to prevent oozing.

The period of infectivity

Period of infectivity is from the appearance of blisters till they are crusted and heal.
