Considering German healthcare system in comparison to the United States health care system, the key players are employees and employers whereas in the US healthcare system the key players are the people with health insurance and insurance companies. In Germany, which has a universal multi-payer healthcare system, employees contribute 7.5% of their income to the public health insurance system and the employers make an equal contribution and this pool provides the overall funding. All people regardless of their financial background get the same medical care and healthcare is a right in Germany. On the contrary, healthcare is not a right or privilege in the US.
