Rate of infusion of the given solution=50ml/hr

Amount of dextrose in 50ml D5W=2.5g

That means patient is getting 2.5g dextrose in an hour

Therefore the amount of dextrose patient is going to get after 10 hours = 2.5g×10hr = 25g

2. TPN contains 8.25% amino acids

That means 100ml TPN contains 8.25g amino acids

Dose required = 75g

Dose in Hand =8.25g/100ml

Volume of TPN to be infused to get 75g protein= (75g/8.25g) ×100ml=909ml

3. 0.025% of IV solution of drug X =0.028g/100ml

=28mg/100ml

Rate of infusion = 100ml/hr

Total hours infused from 6 am to 12 noon = 6 hours

Total volume administered by noon=100ml×6hrs

=600ml
