Growth and development generally refers to the patients physical and also the psychological factors at different ages. This can affect the nursing care in the following way

• Growth in physical structure can increase the workload of the nurses on mobilising, providing care ,transfering patient, medication administration based on BSA, etc.,
• The development factors like the mental growth like the understanding power, knowledge, skills in getting the care from the nurses. If this is not appropriate then the nurse are forced to work under great caution and pressure to assess, identify and provide the right care.
