CULTURAL CONFLICTS THAT AFFECT THE EFFECTIVE HEALTH CARE DELIVERY
Cultural conflict is a type of conflict that occurs when different cultural values and beliefs clash.It is a pateern of ideas,believes,and behaviours which shared by a group of people or a society.Some times this diffent cultures of different kinds of people can affect the health care system directly or indirectly and which is based on how the patients and health care providers view health and illness.
1.Believes of patients and health care providers about the cause of disease.
Eg:Some patients are aware about germ theory and the belives that if a child is affected with Tetanus,the cause is Evil eye.
2.Which diseases or conditions are stigmatized and why.
In some culture is a person is visiting a psychiatrist for any simple clarification he is Crazy.
3.Misconceptions
Eg: Colustrum is the first milk of the mother which is in Yellow colour and rich in all the nutritions.But some of the society belives that coloustrum is a poison and they won't allow the mother to feed colustrum to the baby.
4. seeking healcare is a sin
People with some culture belives that praying god will cure that disease and seeking health care is a Sin.
5.Patients interaction with health care providers.
Eg: making direct eye contact is a sign of respect in many culture,but a care provider may wonder if same behaviour means her patient is depressed.
6.Degree of understanding
Some peoples belives that a phisician who doesn't provide an injection may not be taking their symptoms seriously.
7. Acceptance of a Diagnosis
a person can't be able to accept if he is diagnosed with a chronic condition,because he believes that Diseases are the punishment from god and i didn't do any sin.
