Based on trigger,target,cycle criteria ventilation modes used are CMV ,AC,IMV .

CMV:Continuous mandatory ventilation mode.

AC:Assist control mode.

IMV: Intermittent mandatory ventilation mode .

These are types of mechanical ventilation.

In CMV mode types of breaths are mandatory,targets are limited those are pressure and volume ,cycles ( breath termination)Are volume and time .

AC mode breaths are mandatory and assisted ,targets limited.cycles are volume and time.

IMV mode : Target,trigger and cycle are same as CMV .But types of breaths are mandatory,assisted and spontaneous too.
