Policies provide information to the employees regarding the organization's vision and also provide framework for actions.

Whereas procedures are set of actions to be carried out by the employees according to the organizational policy

Together policies and procedures provide many advantages in the internal workplace, if it is practiced appropriately. They:

Provide clear instructions with goals of the organization

Avoid dilemma, and conflicts

Provide guidance for decision making

Policies also address the acceptable behaviors by employees

Helps in consistent actions by the employees

Reduces legal and safety risks

Policies identify the key activities to be done by the employees

Procedures explain how to accomplish a task in accordance with organization's goals
