1. Pharmacology of Furosemide:

Furosemide is a drug which is called as water pill or diuretics. It is used to eliminate the unneeded water from our body through urine that means it may causes dehydration and electrolyte imbalance in the body.

Loop diuretic; inhibits reabsorption of sodium and chloride ions at proximal and distal renal tubules and loop of Henle; by interfering with chloride-binding cotransport system, causes increases in water, calcium, magnesium, sodium, and chloride.

Furosemide indication for pediatric patients:

Furosemide is indicated in adults and pediatric patients for the treatment of edema associated with congestive heart failure, cirrhosis of the liver, and renal disease, including the nephrotic syndrome.
