ANS)

The Cholecystectomy means the surgical removal of an individual's gallbladder.Gallbladder is the organ which gather and store the bile made by the liver.

The diet recommendations for the patients after cholecystectomy is,

  • * Stop consuming high fat foods, oily and fried food items and high fatty ketchups for more than week after operation.
  • * Consume low-fat foods like whole grains,white fish,vegetables,lentils,fruits,skinless turkey and chicken.

* Consuming fatty and greasy food items after the cholecystectomy may result in much painful gas, swollen state caused by retention of fluid or gas and can also lead to diarrhea. To some extent, this is because of the bile flowing freely to the gut functions as a laxative.
