Most significant resource of any organization is it's people. An organization is a collection of people whose activities has been planned and coordinated to meet organizational objectives. Human Resource Management is concerned with the management and development of people at work. HRM aims at developing the head, hands and heart of every individual man and woman working in an organization.

The activities of HRM includes human resource planning, job analysis and job design, recruitment and selection, orientation and placement, training and development, performance appraisal and job evaluation, employee motivation, welfare, safety and health, industrial relation and the like.

Responsibilities of human resource management team

HRM is the process of achieving organizational effectiveness through effective and efficient utilization of human resources.

The primary responsibility of HRM team is to ensure the availability of competent and willing work force to an organization.

Other responsibilities are,

1. To help organization reach it's goals.

Managerial effectiveness to achieve organizational goals maximised by having an involved , committed, and highly motivated team

2. To utilize the skills and abilities of the employees effectively

HRM effectively utilizes employees knowledge, skills, capabilities and potentialities.

3. To provide organization with well trained and motivated employees

Retraining and multi skilling should be the joint responsibilities of the organization. Good human resources will attract and retain the best people in the organization.

4. To assist the employees to achieve their personal goals.

Employees are adopted into the family and their welfare for most of the organizations concern. Every individual has to be developed as a whole person and every person needs to be given opportunities for development.

5. To increase to the fullest the employees job satisfaction..

The organization need to ensure fare and reasonable salary which will secure a decent standard of living for every work man.

6. To develop and maintain a quality of work life.

The work place should be conducive. It should be clean and congenial

7. To communicate personal policies to the employees

8. To be ethically and socially responsible to the needs and challenges of the society.

9. To manage change for the advantage of individuals,group, organization and public.

HRM is a method of developing the potentialities of employees so that they get maximum satisfaction of work and their best efforts to the organization.

2.Developing right attitudes , required skills among employees through training, refresher courses, workshop and performance appraisals.

3. Developing good industrial relations by treating employees as human beings, this reducing loss caused by unnecessary strikes.

4. Helps the employees to diagnose their own strength and weakness.

5. Improving the qualities of work through various welfare measures

6. Enhancing dignity of labour through participation in management.

7. Raising work morale by giving them opportunity for personal development and job satisfaction.

8. Maintaining good public relations by minimizing suffering caused by strike

9. Increasing productivity through workers participation and motivation

10. Enhance customer satisfaction.

As the name indicates , HRM is concerned with people. It deals with human relationship. Organization is for human beings using money, material, machine and technology.
