Disability means dysfunction or limitation to a person’s movements or activities or senses. Dysfunction may be cognitive, intellectual, mental, physical or sensory or combination of multiple disabilities. Instructional technology refers to theory and practice of using technology in learning is called instructional technology (e.g.; white boards, online class, virtual classroom, computer, calculators, mobile phone etc). Kids who struggle with math may prefer calculators to solve their math problems. Computer different types of software programs help children with maths. Technology can lower the barriers that people with disabilities encounter in their daily lives.

Assistive technology refers to tools or equipment that helps people with disabilities to perform their daily activities. An assistive technology improves the functional capabilities of people with disabilities, promotes independence and decreases the need for other support. Examples like Hearing aid helps a deaf person to hear, wheelchair, scooters, walkers, canes crutches, prosthetic devices helps person to get around. Assistive technology can enable individuals to take care of themselves, participate fully in community life, helps to work or employment and education.
