Describe one of the unethical experiments performed by Nazi doctors.
Unethical experiments in the medical field on human
It is experimentation conducted on humans and not considering or taking care of medical ethics, violating the rules too.
Nazi doctors
They are searching for new ways to treat patients. Their name was so popular after World war II due to their human experimentation without rules and violating medical ethics.
Human experiments performed by them
Nazi doctors performed various human experiments like head injury treatment, bones, nerve regenerations, muscles transplantations, nerve transplantation, mustard gas effects, blood coagulation, sulphonamide, malaria experiments, effects of poisons, experiments on sterility and fertility, etc,
Bones and muscle transplantation
During World war II, German soldiers sustained various types of injuries during battlefields such as soft tissue and bone fractures, dislocation of bones, nerve damage, trauma, etc, gas gangrene too. German army demanded to Nazi doctors to conduct such experiments and one of them is bones and muscle transplantation.
These experiments were conducted on the prisoners. They were forced into these procedures without giving any anesthesia, not even taking their consent to go under the experiments, its like cruelty because these experiments resulted in death, trauma, permanent illness, decrease life span, decrease life structure, permanent disability.
Nazi doctors think that these bone and muscle transplantation experiments as a long-term approach for the treatment of soldiers who sufferer of amputations, pseudoarthrosis, and tissue defects.
One of the experiments is that harvesting of the cortical tibial bone grafts sometimes with and sometimes without the surrounding periosteum then these bone grafts were either implanted in the tibias of injured soldiers under the experiment or sometimes implanted in the same individual’s contralateral tibia. In some prisoners, a segment of the fibula was grafted onto the tibia.
They also performed muscle experiments on large population of prisoners. They selected one anatomical regions say legs and carried out repeated removal of one of the part of skeletal muscle (myomectomies), so that the legs got thinner and weaker during the whole experiment and it got easier to dissect it. Sometimes they resected the same limbs or legs to found out the nerve regenaration and these results in permanent disabiity to the subject.
They also tried bone transplantation, the whole limbs was transplanted to the soldiers, but they were not succeded.
In this way unethical procedures were carried out by Nazi doctors.
