A 35-year-old male patient came to the medical office with complaints of being weak, lethargic, and unable to focus on tasks. The health care provider assessed the symptoms and ordered a hemoglobin and hematocrit test to be performed. The results were hgb 12.3 g/dl and Hct 38%.

Based on the result, the physician ordered another blood draw for iron studies.
