Answer #1

Answer: The meaningful use is the program which is mainly used to promote the adoption of the EHR system. The major purpose of the meaningful use is to elevate the technology adoption, increasing the quality, safety as well as treatment efficiency provided to the patients in the United States.

The meaningful use stage 1 in the facilities have the objectives:

  • To check the drug allergies and interaction.
  • CPOE
  • Maintaining the list of the medicines.
  • Recording the demographics.
  • Keeping the medication list which causes allergy.
  • Vital signs.

As a nurse, the meaningful use provides a platform to enhance the nursing practice. It reduces the workload and burn out. The use of the information and objectives can be implemented to elevate the quality of care being provided to the patients. It also reduces the medication error.
