Answer #1

The patient with hyperemesis gravidarum is a sever form of morning sickness which is characterized by symptoms/ conditions such as vomiting, severe nausea, dehydration, weight loss, possibly dehydration and fainting at times. In this case, the nurse when observed that patient has not infused any of the IV fluids, her peripheral IV is pulled out should immediately administer hydration IV fluids and orally give the patient liquid to nullify the dehydration. The patient might have fainted due to dehydration which is an associated condition of hyperemesis gravidarum. Hence, initiating her IV fluids is the first step and hydration orally and monitoring the patient fo the next 24 hrs such be the plan of action for the nurse to resolve the situation and maintain healthy pregnancy.
