Workers are a high-risk group who are exposed to myriad of occupational hazards. Biological hazards are of utmost risk for infectious disease that can be transmitted by different methods: airborne, blood borne, contact and zoonotic diseases.

Write a page long essay answering the following questions:

1. Choose at least one occupational group that are at risk of contracting infectious diseases at their workplace e.g.; farmers, mortuary workers, HCWs, etc.

Occupational Infectious disease is common in occupational groups.these infection is ,can transmit to others like other workers or families and to society.through contacts .

it caused by biological agents like bacteria ,fungi,and viruses etc. It can transmit from human to human and animal to human or through environmental contavy

For example we can see about Anthrax .it is infectious disease can transmit through contact with animals. farmers are very prone to get this disease .ones it got ,then it very important to stay away from others .The pores of this can survive long time .it can transmit through contact also with airbase. So cleaning of the home or where they lived and things they used is very important. Also to prevent these also one of the important measure.vaccines are available now for this disease.

In other case if the occupational source is not recognized there is more chance of transmission of diseidentify the source and prevention is important. Also re infection for the affected person when return to work is high risk .so taking preventive measures.

It can prevent the spread by

• Controlling the source of infections and route of transmission.
• Protecting susceptible persons.
• Through appropriate PPE measures.
• Health education can give.
• Through hepatitis B vaccine.
• cleaning of body fluid with appropriate liquids.

2. one of the other infectious disease is hepatitis B.it is also an infectious disease commonly seen in medical professionals.it commonly transmit through body fluid. Medical professionals like nurses ,doctors and lab workers etc are prone to get this disease. It can also spread s-extual contact from affected person.also through mother to baby contact

Symptoms are not same in very individuals, it included yellowing of eyes , abdominal pain, dark urine etc. In children's can varie symptoms.

It is a disease can get recover fully for adults even with the severe symptoms. But children's are prone to get chronic hepatitis B.but vaccine is available to prevent hepatitis B.

Diagnostic tests are very important to confirm these infection .beacuse the symptoms are varied from one to one person.The most common ways to get hepatitis B in medical professional

• Accidentall needle stick
• Sharing needles
• While removing body fluids .
• Attending delivery of affected women without adequate precaution

Lots of complications are there because of hepatitis B like

• Liver cancer
• Kidney disease
• Liver failure
• Cirrhosis or scarring of liver.
