Workers are a high-risk group who are exposed to myriad of occupational hazards. Biological hazards are of utmost risk for infectious disease that can be transmitted by different methods: airborne, blood borne, contact and zoonotic diseases.

Write a page long essay answering the following questions:

1. Choose at least one occupational group that are at risk of contracting infectious diseases at their workplace e.g.; farmers, mortuary workers, HCWs, etc.

2. Discuss at least one infectious disease.

There are many bacterial infections associated with occupation. Mostly farmers are seems like increased risk of getting bacterial infection such as brucellosis and campylobacteriosis. This is because of the direct contact with soil and farm animals.

Brucellosis is the bacterial infection caused by eating dietary product of infected animals or by direct contact with the infected animals.

Brucellus infection can affect almost all of the body systems . Symptoms include abdominal pain, fever, chills, cough, night sweating etc.

The bacterial infection mainly treated with antibiotics and it can be prevented by avoiding close contact with infected animals and eating them.
