Answer #1

answer1:

I agree with the statement that research in health Informatics is stimulating ,varied and dynamic, the reasons for the same are listed below:

Reasons for agreement with the statement: The research in the Healthcare Informatics has the following attributes.

stimulating research==comprises interesting, thought provoking, exciting research ideas and plans.

dynamic research ===is in a process of constant movement or change in the research interests.

varied research == always having diverse or wide ranging aspects for research.

Hence I agree with the statement is that the research in the Healthcare Informatics is stimulating, dynamic and varied.

Detailed explanation for each is given below:

Health Informatics is the use of information technology in order to analyze the data that is got from the documentation of the health care delivery systems and the medical records.Data has to be organized and analyzed with respect to a certain or particular aspect of the medical procedure or practice to obtain information about the effectiveness and the scope of improvement ,Since this research involves a lot of thinking to understand where there is a scope of change or improvement ,this is a highly stimulating(provokes critical thinking and analysis) research. It is always exciting and interesting for the researcher to analyse and interpret new and ever expanding data with respect to various aspects of the healthcare. Therefore I agree with the statement that the research in health Informatics is stimulating.

The research in health Informatics is dynamic .There is a constant is change in the various aspects that have been researched in the past and are under research at present, these are keeping in mind the health needs of the population and the current medical problems faced by society and the challenges in the health care delivery systems. The research has to adapt swiftly to the changing times and has to be relevant to the current health scenarios.Hence i agree that the research in health care informatics is dynamic.

In the post covid Era most of the countries have come up with the research using the health Informatics to estimate the need of hospital beds and icu beds for seriously ill covid patients and also inform the patients about the availability of ICU bed in various hospitals in their area based on health informatics. This kind of research adapts to the covid crisis and is an example of a dynamism of research in health informatics.

In the Healthcare records and information systems, there is a lot of varied data with respect to the new procedures, the new forms of medical practice, medical interventions, patient safety, new drug combinations, the differences in the organizational structures and hence the research can be varied over large number of processes to determine their effectiveness and outcomes. There is no monotony  in the the parameters that can be researched and these are highly varied. Hence I agree  that the research in the health Informatics is varied.

examples. 1. research based on the bed occupancy rate of healthcare organization .and also compare it with rates from different regions and providers.

2. research based on occurrence of a particular disease pattern in population.

3,research to analyzes the allergy to drug incidences in population from records.

4.research to identify security threats to medical data.

This research can be extended to a number of infinite, diverse and varied parameters in healthcare and hence the research in health Informatics is varied.

answer2:

Positive (direct) and negative(inverse) relationships define the relationship of the two variables under consideration with respect to each other. In a positive relationship, when one variable increases ,the other variable also increases, that is the variables move in the same direction..This is therefore a direct relationship between two variables.. In a negative relationship, the variables move in a direction opposite to each other, when one variable under consideration increases the other variable decreases. This is an inverse relationship between two variables..

illustration of positive and negative relationship with an example

positive relationship===variable 1 increase-->variable 2 increases.(direct relationship between variables)(both variables move in same direction)

negative relationship===variable 1 increase-->variable 2 decreases(inverse relationship between variables)(the two variables move in opposite direction)

illustration of positive and negative relationship with an example

The understanding of positive and negative relationship between the two variables can be illustrated by the examples below

The example of positive relationship is that increase in the iron intake increases, the hemoglobin of the patient. Here the iron intake and the hemoglobin both move in the same direction and hence this relationship is that of a positive relationship.

The example of a negative relationship is that between the consumption of the vegetables of the brassica family like cauliflower ,cabbage and the thyroid hormone levels. The vegetables of the brassica family are Goitrogenic; they decrease the production of thyroid hormone . The increased consumption of cauliflower, cabbage decreases the levels of thyroid hormones, the two variables here move in the opposite direction and hence this is an example of negative relationship.

answer3:

Evaluation research is the feedback provider(how effective is the practice or the change?) for Healthcare systems and therefore is the most important component to understand the efficiency and the efficacy of Healthcare. This is dependent on the Healthcare Informatics Systems.

Most of the health Informatics research is aimed to determine the effectiveness of the medical programs, the medical procedures, patient safety, information safety, the health structure processes and the organizational detail s.Al this can be done effectively by using the evaluation Research Design. The components of an evaluation Research Design are input, the processes, the output and the summative evaluation. The evaluation research design determines the effectiveness of the health care deliverables.

workhorse(evaluation research)==tool that works best to deliver(research in health informatics system)==best research design to determine the effectiveness of medical programs, medical procedures, new drugs and medical gadgets and products, healthcare delivery structure.

The health Informatics is a system where is the data regarding health care is integrated using information technology. The health Informatics research is aimed towards the comparing and collecting data from various aspects of healthcare and medicine and coming to a conclusion regarding their effectiveness. This can be done only once the processes and data is evaluated. The evaluation of the process, the structure, the inputs, the outcome and the summative evaluation are important to understand the effectiveness of a Health Care program and its delivery. This goal is achieved by using the evaluation Research Design in health informatics.Hence the evaluation research is the workhorse of health Informatics system as it is the best tool to deliver the goal of research in health informatics.
