Deep Vein Thrombosis is a serious condition that occures when a blood clot forms in a vein located deep inside human body.A blood clot is a clump of blood that's turned to solid state.Deep Vein blood clots typically form in thigh or leg ,but they can also develop in other areas of human body.The first signs of DVT includes pain,swelling,warmth,redness,leg cramps often starting in the calf,blushish or whitish skin discolouration.Treatment for DVT are Anticoagulation and cathter directed thrombolysis.Preventive measures for DVT includes drink lots of fluids ,wear loose fitting clothing.Walk and strech at regular intervals,special stockings that compress the leg belw the knee may help prevent blood cloting from forming.
