After two days, he feels much better and decides to stop taking the medication and save it for another time. Three days later, however, he suffers a relapse of the streptococcal infection.

b. Samwise decides to start taking the amoxicillin again after the rebound infection, but finds that it is not effective at treating the infection. What could be the reason for this?

c. One of the other reasons why Samwise decided to stop treatment with the amoxicillin was due to diarrhoea. Why do you think this happened?

B) streptococcus became resistance to the antibiotic amoxicillin( beta lactamase) , by mutation beta lactam binding protein.

C) side effects of amoxcillin, diarrhea occurs because the normal flora of Gastrointestinal tract is deranged because of amoxicillin, this leads to clostridial difficle growth in the gastrointestinal tract, this produces toxin which destroys the intestinal lining leading to diarrhoea
