Different Types of Polymeric materials are used for the construction of dashboard,in which the common material is "Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene(ABS)".

Which is used because it helps the body to absorb and redistribute the energy during an impact,keeping the passengers safe.it have good impact resistance even at low temperature .

But in the case of Hard material and steel alloy material they absorb less energy during impact when compared to polymeric material, so there is high chance of injury.and it has high weight compared with polymer material so the fuel consumption will increases so the efficiency decreases.so these materials are generally not used for manufacturing car dashboard.
