there are two type of design one plastic another one is elastic .we define plastic design as the design in which product are designed beyond the elastic limit.or we can define plastic design as a design in which crietria of design is ultimate load.plastic design is done to utilize the reserved strength beyond elastic limit due to redistribution of internal forces.the analysis focus on internal forces at limit level when yield mechanism form.
