Stresses at a point are: 60 MPa in the x-direction, 80 MPa in the y-direction and no shear stress in this reference x-y plane. Note that these are already the principal stresses and the reference plane x-y is the principal plane. What are the stresses at 45o clockwise from the principal planes? Show them on a properly-oriented element. Mohr’c cirle is to be used and no equations will be accepted.

At a point in a bracket, the stress on two mutually perpendicular planes are 100 N/mm2 (tensile) and 50 N/mm2 (tensile). The shear stress across the planes is 80 N/mm2. Find using Mohr stress circle or otherwise calculate: Magnitude and direction of the resultant stress on plane making an angle of 200 with the plane of the first stress. Maximum shear stress and location of its plane. c. Principal stresses and the location of principal planes

A point in body is in a state of plane stress. The applied direct stress on the face, with normal parallel to the X axis, is 65 MPa with an unknown applied shear stress on the same face. NB - Tensile direct stresses are +ve, Compressive direct stresses are -ve. The maximum in plane shear stress is 111 MPa. The direct stress, on the plane corresponding to maximum shear stress, is 28 MPa. You must use a diagram to illustrate...

Please summarize the below article in approximately 100 words: Monumental function in British Neolithic burial practices Ian Kinnes The high-risk rate of survival for the non-megalithic series of Neolithic funerary monuments, recently re-emphasized by Piggott (1973: 34), introduces a further variable into the deductive study of burial practices. In Britain and Europe the overall distribution of monumental forms present both lacunae and a marked preponderance of cairns over earthen mounds which are in ill accord with the known or predicted...
