Explain why offshore wind farms can harness more frequent,consistent and powerful winds in comparison with onshore wind farms.

because onshore wind speeds are very unpredictable than offshore wind speeds , as the turbines are designed to operate at optimized speeds theri efficiency may be decreased if the wind speed is too high or too low

similar the wind in onshore chages their direction very offten which also reduces the output from the turbine

but in case of offshore the wind turbines are more efficient here because the wind speed and wind direction are more consistent here

so the all the above mentioned reasons make offshore wind farms better than onshore
