Answer #1

The above statement is True.

THWN stands for Thermoplastic Heat and Water-resistant Nylon . Thermoplastic is a type of PVC material that is thinner than other types and also light weight .THWN is suitable for use in both dry and wet locations with a maximum temperature rating of 75ºC (167ºF). Water resistance is a major reason for the use of THWN wire. These cables are installed in environments where a conduit is not mandatory , this additional flexibility makes it the preferred cable among all cables. Stand-alone THWN cables are coated in PVC, as opposed to vinyl, to assist in water resistance.  It is generally used to carry electrical current or power in a building.  This product is utilized in the construction of almost every industrial, residential and commercial building.
