consider a cannon barrel of inner radius of r1= 50mm and outer radius of r0= 72mm that is made of a special steel with a modulus of elasticity of 243GPa that has a Poisson's ratio of v=0.21.
When the cannon is fired with a dry charge( not at full power) the explosive pressure in the barrel is 16MPa whilst the outside barrel pressure is at standard atmospheric pressure.
For the system determine, the radial displacements of the cannon barrel for ten equally spaced radii values from the inner radius through to the outer radius in units of micro-meters.
