What is the phase description and specific volume of water at pressure, 600 kPa and temperature, 110 degrees celsius?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

At 600kpa saturation temperature of water = 158.9 (You can find it from any steam table)

Here, water temperature 110 OC, which is less than the saturation temperature of a steam.

So that we can easily say that at this condition water is in pure liquid form.

Now liquid water is very very less compressible so that now its volume does not much change with reducing the temperature. So that we can say that at a given condition specific volume of water is the same as a saturated specific volume of water fluid at 600kpa.

Vs = Vf @ 600kpa ( from steam table )

Vs = 0.001101 m3/kg.
