What happens when petrol is injected as a fuel in a diesel engine? Will it work. Explain briefly and mathematically
Petrol has higher ignition temperature than diesel so it requires spark plug for combustion. The spark provides higher temperature required for the ignition in case of petrol. Diesel engine on the other hand, uses higher compression ratio, and the diesel auto ignites on compression because diesel has lower ignition temperature.
Now, if petrol is injected instead of diesel, it won't ignite automatically since higher temperature is required to ignite petrol. So, it won't work
