For CFD, discuss the reasons for having the coefficients of the discretization equation be positive.

I know it is to ensure convergence and i know why the signs must all be the same but i do not know why a positive sign is used rather than all terms being negative.

I am having trouble deciding what is true for these questions. I thought I had the right answers but they keep getting marked wrong. For Question 1, I chose option 2, as I though all the others to be false. For Question 4 I chose option 4, as I learned that the z-scores of the mean and standard deviation were always 0 and 1, respectively. For question 5 I chose option 4 as well. Which one of the following statements...

I'm having trouble conceptualizing my payoff for a bullish spread. So I have a long call, which is less than the spot price, and short call which is greater than spot price. Both options have the same expiration. Why does my payoff depend on the spot price at time of expiration? I've been told that : (K1 represents long call, St represents spot at expiration, K2 represents short call) If K1<St<K2 then my payoff will be St-K1. If St>K2, my...

(i) A solution of toluene (methyl benzene) and ethanoic acid is said to exhibit “positive deviations from Raoult’s Law”. Discuss 1) how the graphical evidence obtained from partial pressure measurements as a function of composition would prove it exhibits positive deviations and 2) why it deviates using a molecular-based explanation. Please be specific to the system in question in your explanations. (ii) The acetone-cyclohexane system also exhibits positive deviations from Raoult’s Law. Sketch the expected temperature-composition phase diagram for this...

I am going to ask you to discuss a subject that for many people can be a touchy issue and that is the subject of human sexuality and choices. Politics, personal biases and emotional issues can all rear up and make things difficult. Please remember I am asking you to discuss your opinions on this. Some of you will certainly disagree and there is nothing wrong with that. When no one disagrees there is no point to discussion. That being...

Hi, I did a lab on ROTATIONAL KINEMATICS and I'm having a little trouble answering the questions at the end of the lab. For this lab, we used an object attach to a parallel shaft that spins. There was a hanging mass attached to the shaft that made the object spin. We then recorded the times for two different methods. These methods were PART A). Angular Position Versus Time, and PART B). Angular Velocity versus Time. Once done, we were...

Step 1 - Outline: Formulating a Claim and Reasons Read the Outline with Reasons document and then post your claim and two or three reasons. This will be your initial post; all of the following posts you make will be a reply to this post. Outline with Reasons Classical argument relies heavily on logic for its persuasive power. One great benefit of constructing an outline for this paper is that it allows you to literally see the strengths and weaknesses...

Background: Part I: Converging Lenses First, grab the lamp, and place it at one end of the optical track. Ensure that the light is directed to shine on the rest of the track (without anything in the way of the "window" on the lamp). Then, select a 5cm converging lens (red tape), and place it in a holster in the middle optical track. Place the arrow in a clip stand, and place that clip stand in a holster in between...
