Someone claims to have invented a separator that can separate any saturated mixture of liquid water and water vapour into liquid and vapour without any input of any kind. Is this possible? Prove your answer with calculation

Homework Answers

Answer #1

YES it is possible.. in refrigerator system we use flash chamber which will separate vapour refrigerant from liquid refrigerant and send directly to compressor and only liquid refrigerant pass through evaporator thus load on evaporator decreases... similarly if water used as refrigerant it will also separate water vapour from liquid water.

there are other equipment also which can be used such as vapour liquid separator.

i think calculation are not required.

The next three questions go together. 21. Expired air is saturated with water vapor and generally contains more of it than does inspired air. There is usually a net loss of water from the body due to breathing. Water vapor pressure in the at saturation in the lungs (at 37°C) is 47 mmHg, while in expired air at 33°C it is 37.7 mmHg. Consider the case of someone who is breathing dry air in and moist air out at a...

On any given flight, the goal of an airline is to fill the plane as much as possible, without exceeding the capacity of the plane. In order to achieve this, the airlines routinely overbook their flights in consideration of last minute cancellations. We assume that a customer cancels his/her ticket in the last minute with probability 0.06, independent of the other customers. We also assume that the airline is not able to sell more tickets in order to replace the...

Can someone verify for me that I'm doing this correctly? For data analysis, part b: All S2O32- is consumed at the end of the reaction. Therefore, the moles of S2O32- consumed can be calculated using the equation below. This program's task is to determine how much of each ingredient in a recipe will be required for a target party size. The first inputs to the program will be the recipe itself. Here is an example recipe...
